Lutz

Despite calling Philadelphia, PA home, Dr. Matthew Lutz actually moved every two to three years as an "Army brat" during his youth. Born in Germany, Dr. Lutz spent various amounts of time in numerous states and countries, including places such as Hawaii and Belgium. Dr. Lutz earned his BS degree from California University of Pennsylvania where he balanced academics with four years of varsity athletics as a college baseball player. He received his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at the Ohio University regional training site at Affinity Medical Center in Massillon, Ohio.

Dr. Lutz is board certified in otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery with over 18 years of experience and provides non-surgical and surgical intervention for patients diagnosed with conditions related to ear, nose, throat and neck disorders. He is an active member of the medical staff at Western Reserve Hospital, Akron Children’s Hospital and Summa Health Medical Center, and a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery.

Dr. Lutz is a three-time recipient of the Western Reserve Hospital Department of Surgery patient satisfaction award, which recognizes his commitment to patient care. Additionally, he received the Outstanding Surgery Faculty award for his leadership and teaching of the Western Reserve Hospital Otolaryngology residents. In 2019 he was also named Best Allergist in Akron by the Akron Beacon Journal.

Dr. Lutz runs a private practice in Stow and Uniontown, and is currently accepting new patients. He specializes in the practice of ear, nose and throat disorders, as well as allergy, sinus, sleep apnea, hearing disorders, balance disorders, facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, thyroid and salivary gland disorders and speech and swallowing disorders.
